Pine Mountain
 Pine Mountain Club (PMC) is a planned four-season community just
seventeen miles off of Interstate 5 in Southern Kern County. We are located in a secluded beautifully wooded valley in the shadows of
Mt. Pinos, Mt. Abel and Saw Mill Mountains.
When we have a really good snow winter a covering of snow will stay on the top of the mountains through early summer; making an almost magical introduction to the change of season. Our rustic village, which has all the basic necessities (on a small scale), is located at an elevation of 5,500 feet with homes and cabins winding up to just under 7,000 feet.
Pine Mountain Club is surrounded by the million plus acres of
Los Padres National Forest. Our community covers 3,200 acres, 1,000 of which are subdivided into approximately 3,000 lots and the remaining 2,200 acres are permanently set aside as open space for the enjoyment of property owners and their guests. Our location within the national forest means that growth is limited to the original 3,000 lots. We can't get any bigger - that was very important to me!
Tenneco developed Pine Mountain in the early 70's; they owned the land prior to Los Padres becoming a National Forest. We have an old photograph in our office of cows grazing on what is now the golf course.
All
Pine Mountain homes and lots are individually owned but re-sales are available. All new property owners become members of the Property Owner's Association (PMCPOA) with access to all of the recreational facilities.
 The association provides the 64 miles of internal paved road maintenance which includes snow plowing. We also have a 24 hour security patrol and trash disposal. The association also maintains and upgrades all of our facilities:
club house (restaurant, bar, meeting rooms, teen center, pro shop), helicopter pad, golf course, tennis courts, swimming pool, open space, equestrian center, village park, ball park, fishing pond, and much more. Yearly dues for 2006/2007 are $1,085 - a real bargain.
Pine Mountain Village provides many basic services: grocery, hardware and gift stores, restaurants, bakery, ice cream parlor, laundromat, video rentals, fitness center, beauty shops - and of course my real estate office which has a beautiful view of the golf course from right across the street. The village also sponsors many festivals and events:
the Lilac Festival, Wine in the Pines, Car Show, October fest and Santa in the gazebo. A walk through our village feels like a relaxed step into the past.
